The webinar "The Hallmarks of Aging: A decade later" organized by Editorial Office of The Journal of Cardiovascular Aging (JCA) and chaired by the Editor-in-Chief Dr. Ali J. Marian, was successfully held on December 1, 2022. We were very pleased and honored to have Dr. Guido Kroemer as the first speaker to deliver a fantastic presentation.

The event was a huge success, with more than 200 researchers from different countries participating in the webinar. In addition, more than 20,000 people watched the webinar through other live broadcast platforms!

Splendid Moments

First, Dr. Ali J. Marian extended a warm welcome and heartfelt thanks to the speaker Dr. Guido Kroemer and the online participants! Then he presented JCA's development, Editorial Board members, and the speaker. Moreover, he expressed JCA's vision to build a fast, fair and friendly open access academic publishing platform.

Dr. Guido Kroemer delivered an excellent presentation about caloric restriction mimetics and autophagy checkpoint inhibition research. Dr. Junichi Sadoshima and Dr. Lorrie Kirshenbaum, members of the JCA Editorial Board, had a heated discussion with the speaker and the host on the content of this presentation. Dr. Kroemer's detailed answers were highly appreciated by the participants. For some questions that could not be discussed in the webinar, the Editorial staff has sorted them out and sent to Dr. Kroemer after the webinar.

At the end of the webinar, Dr. Marian once again thanked Dr. Kroemer for his wonderful report to scholars around the world, and looked forward to researchers being inspired by his seminal scientific contributions.

The Editorial Office appreciated the speaker Dr. Kroemer, the Host Dr. Marian, Dr. Sadoshima and Dr. Kirshenbaum for their great efforts to make this webinar a great success. We will continue disseminating the most advanced research results and academic insights, and promote the further development of this field.

Since Dr. Kromer has data under embargo that could not be posted in public databases or social media, this specific webinar was held online without any recording or any slides available for distribution.

As a long-term event, JCA webinar will be held monthly. We will invite the most prominent scientists and physician-scientists to present at JCA webinars. Each JCA webinar will be named after a prominent physician-scientist or a biomedical scientist. Looking forward to meeting with you in JCA webinars.

Respectfully submitted by the Editorial Office of JCA.
